Our
Story 

Kanga Wealth Management, established in 1996, is an independent financial advisory and
intermediary services business in its purest form (with no corporate shareholders). At Kanga we
pride ourselves in being fiercely independent and protecting clients choice by giving them a full
market perspective with no influence from corporate opinion.
Our advice methodology is to place value on you (the client) and your lifestyle requirements,
while ensuring that your financial products and portfolio meet these requirements. We are
solution orientated, ensuring that the solutions we provide speak directly to a clients needs.
At Kanga Wealth Management, we collaborate with professionals in the financial services
sector, with that we have partnered with the GrowthHouse FSP, who enable us to run an
independent financial services business, giving us the ability to take care of our clients, while
GrowthHouse FSP take care of Compliance, Professional Indemnity Insurance, and provide as
with the tools and technology to run our business efficiently.

Kirsten Roux

Founder and Advisor 

Kirsten Roux’s financial journey started in 1986 after completing his national service in the South African Navy. He started out as a Graduate Trainee in the corporate broker division of Price Forbes Federale Volkskas Beleggings. By 1996, Kirsten had established his own brokerage, significantly expanding his portfolio and influence within the industry. Over the years, Kirsten has cultivated strong relationships with specialised financial houses in Guernsey, Jersey, the UK and South Africa. Recognising the importance of succession planning and building holistic, collaborative financial services for his clients, Kirsten adopted the lifestyle financial planning model approach for all his clients. Kirsten builds strong connections with his clients by understanding his clients’ financial situations. “I am deeply fulfilled by working with clients from diverse backgrounds, regardless of their wealth. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve financial security and success and I consider it a privilege to support them on their financial journey towards a brighter future.” Kirsten’s extensive experience has set him up as a special advisor, who integrates financial disciplines into cohesive life plans. Rui da Costa

Advisor

Rui has worked as an Independent Financial Planner since 2008 with experience in property investment, CFD and Spreads Trading and Lifestyle Financial Planning as his core focus. He holds a B.Com Accounting Degree from UPE (now NMU) and has held various middle and senior management positions since 1994 in several businesses in various industries including: •  Retail •  Office Automation •  Advertising •  Pharmaceutical •  Medical Diagnostics •  Financial Services Rui’s core focus is to build long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients by analysing their specific needs and providing bespoke solutions that will meet these needs over the long term. He is very detail and data conscious and meticulous in presenting a high calibre of service level to all clients to leave them with a satisfactory client experience. ​ His belief is that “the essence of investment management is the management of risk, not return” (Benjamin Franklin) and he places a high reliance on exploring and employing risk mitigating principles in everything that he does, be it work, personal or otherwise.

Hannes van Huyssteen

Advisor

Hannes is a Wealth Advisor and operates his own financial advising practice as a partner of Kanga Wealth Management. Hannes began his financial advisory career during 2011 while he was, and still is, a registered tax practitioner. He started his own tax practice, Taxation Solutions, and continues to provide tax consulting services. Hannes’ experience in tax developed a strong attention to detail which he applies in his financial planning approach. ​ Hannes believes in building strong personal relationships with his clients and getting to know his clients, without which he is not able to provide the appropriate advice and build financial plans that fit his clients’ needs. Hannes provides advisory services to clients from various backgrounds and varying income levels and services clients from all age groups, with a keen interest in all areas of financial planning, including but not limited to assisting with budgeting, short-term and long-term savings, retirement planning, risk planning (disability and death cover), and estate planning. ​ Hannes always aims to ensure that any action plans put into place for clients align fully to his clients’ goals.  Ultimately Hannes wants to ensure that clients’ money works for them. It is of utmost importance to Hannes that action plans that are put into place are reviewed regularly because ‘life happens’ and when it does, clients’ goals and needs change accordingly, which necessitates taking a step back, reviewing action plans put into place, and adjusting a client’s action plan as and when required.

Christopher Osmond

Advisor

With well over 10 years of experience, Chris’s passion lies with making financial planning easy. He does this by helping clients make sense of their current position and what they can do in order to meet their lifestyle needs into the future. This requires an understanding of every part of a client world which impacts their finances which in turn helps them make better decisions. Chris follows a lifestyle financial planning process and advice methodology is to help clients create and protect wealth ensuring it meets their lifestyle objectives over their lifetime. In Chris’s previous capacity as Business Development Manager within two multi – national Personal Financial Planning Networks, he gained experience guiding and working with Wealth Advisors and their clients, assisting the advisors to build high quality and successful advisor practices, and clients reaching their financial goals. The experience and accomplishments have afforded Chris a deep understanding of financial planning solutions, market dynamics and sophisticated investment strategies. This practical experience, combined with his academic qualifications - a master’s degree in construction management, along with Bcom degrees in both financial planning and honours in general finance and Investment Management - enables him to offer a comprehensive and insightful perspective on financial planning. His passion for delivering bespoke Wealth Advisory solutions drives him to develop strategies that are in alignment with a client’s unique objectives. With unwavering commitment to excellence in financial planning, this is what forms the cornerstone of his approach to clients.

Lindy Stansbury

Lindy joined Kirsten and Kanga Trust in February 2001.  She was fortunate to work mornings only at the time as she had young children.  She has been with the business ever since.  

 

Her role has evolved over time.  She works closely with Kirsten and Chris in managing all aspects of our client relationships from financial planning
to building, maintaining, and servicing our broad client base.  

 

We are passionate about empowering our clients to take ownership of their financial plan by building an
honest and transparent relationship.  It has been a joy and privilege to be a part of a business that has grown from strength to strength over 24 years.

Sharon Norton

With a decade of experience in the banking sector, Sharon transitioned from the Building Society
to focus on her family. Subsequently, She managed her own small business from home and served
as a Representative for a Travel Agency.

Sharon then joined her current employer
as a Receptionist, and over the past 20 years,
she has continued to work alongside the same leadership, handling Reception, Administration,
and various other responsibilities as needed.

Brenda Moore

Before joining Kirsten Roux at Kanga Trust, then trading as IPMG, in June 2011, Brenda worked as a Personal Assistant in various industries.

 

In January 2014, she moved with Kirsten to Adviceworx , and then to Wealth Associates in October 2023.


Some 13 years later, the team is back at Kanga Trust, now trading as Kanga Wealth Management. Brenda now assists Kirsten Roux and Chris Osmond as well as Lindy Stanbury, with all administrative tasks, ensuring a seamless process for their clients.

Yvette Redcliffe

Yvette joined the financial services industry in May 2013. After completing her Teacher’s Diploma in 1994, she was recruited by a major retail company and spent a total of 18 years as a department manager, and then a controller for another big
retail group. It was during her employment as controller that she met Rui da Costa, who offered and subsequently employed her as his Assistant.
Proud Mom of 5, she jumped at the opportunity to leave retail, as it meant that she would be able to spend more time with her family and share in their milestones. Yvette’s duties include but are not limited to: Responding to client queries timeously
and effectively, completion of documents for client signatures, informing clients of progress on their instructions, ensuring documents are correct before sending to providers, accurate record-keeping, liaising with investment companies to ensure
timeous finalization of client instructions, ensuring FICA and FAIS compliance, arranging appointments, and regular communication with clients pertaining to their instructions and queries.
